Today, my Mother spent her evening after work at the hospital. X-rays confirm that she has a broken toe. She was told that there may be more broken bones in the actual foot, but that they weren’t sure because there were no “doctors” there tonight.
They guy who examined her (nurse, technician, or maybe even night custodian) said that there were no doctors in the building, but “even I can tell that toe is broken.”
Not exactly words to inspire confidence.
He also said that there would be a doctor tomorrow who could read the x-ray and call with further (and hopefully more professional sounding) findings.
In the meantime, the guy gave her some pain pills. Whoever he was…
